TELL ME MORE

Alana II is a fine example of a high-specification Bavaria 34 with many upgrades, very well maintained and run by a long-established group who are only the second owners from new.

She is the “Owner’s Version” with the extra spacious front cabin and a raft of extras and upgrades including extra deep fin keel, copper bottom, higher-spec Volvo 29hp main diesel engine, Eberspacher cabin heating, electric windlass, Raymarine autopilot, chart plotter & radar and 4 person inflatable dinghy with Yamaha 2hp outboard.

Over the years she has undergone a thorough programme of maintenance to keep her in tip top condition. Replacement dates of major items are listed in the full schedule which you can download below.

Owner's Comments

As one of the founder members of the Alana II syndicate I have had the great pleasure of sailing her for many years. She has been kept in excellent condition by the syndicate members and has only been lightly used.

The reason I am selling my share is that I now wish to sail further afield on longer trips with a larger boat and am in the process of setting up a new syndicate to realise that ambition. Alana has been a great investment and I have spent very many happy hours on board.

Four weeks each year are set aside for maintenance when the boat is lifted and scrubbed off. Maintenance jobs are then undertaken by a combination of professionals and individual members depending on level of skill/knowledge required. Safety critical elements are generally overseen by professionals.

Contribution to monthly running costs (including mooring, maintenance, planned upgrades and other capital expenditure) has been set at £175 per member per month for some time. This has allowed us to keep the boat in excellent condition with many items being upgraded/replaced each year and currently there is a healthy surplus of funds.

The syndicate is well established and has stood the test of time. Members are allocated one week in every four at the start of the season with occasional swaps taking place. Unused weeks (of which there are usually many) are offered around the members.

New syndicate members must be qualified to at least RYA Day Skipper level or sail with an instructor until so qualified. No smoking or pets allowed below deck.

MOORING LOCATION

We use a residential mooring at the excellent Port Solent marina in Portsmouth which costs the syndicate a fraction of the normal commercial rate. There is 24/7 secure gated access to the mooring and the Port Solent lock allows entry/exit to the marina at all states of tide.

Facilities at the marina are second to none with very high quality shower blocks, laundry and a wide range of bars and restaurants.
